Care in Action

Pi Beta Phi’s approach to member wellbeing is built on the belief that when members feel supported, they’re empowered to do more—for themselves and the world around them. Through proactive education, intentional conversations and shared responsibility, Pi Phis gain the knowledge and resources to care for themselves and one another.

Supporting Every Member, Every Step of the Way.

We equip members to take action in real time and help prevent harm before it occurs. Programs like Critical Conversations® provide practical tools to help members identify risk, make informed decisions and look out for one another.

Pi Beta Phi defines hazing as any action that causes harm, discomfort, embarrassment or diminishes another person’s dignity. Hazing prevention is reinforced through education and accountability throughout the member experience.

Pi Phi’s Critical Conversations Speaker Series brings trained facilitators to each chapter to lead impactful discussions around the challenges members face. Through a series of interactive workshops, members gain the skills to navigate important decisions, stay true to their values and support one another.

Living with my Pi Phi sisters made it much easier to talk about mental health and seek support because of the deep trust, understanding and openness within our home. Having these options has de-stigmatized conversations around mental health, allowing everyone to feel supported.

As an upperclassman who has gone through many different alcohol awareness sessions, [the Alcohol Skills Training Program] talked about a lot of things I wasn’t previously aware of.

Some of my favorite memories of living in the house have been movie nights, sisterhood events and piling into each other's rooms to debrief our weeks or talk about what's on our minds. I find it easiest to decompress and ease stress when I have someone to talk to and give me advice.

Our facilitator did an excellent job of establishing a welcoming and inclusive environment, which was a key part in getting people to participate. This [Every Act of Yours] program was incredibly valuable and relevant to our chapter and exceeded my expectations. I learned things and left with helpful steps for personal and chapter-wide improvement.

Building confidence to make informed choices

The ASTP helps members better understand alcohol-related behaviors and reflect on their own choices in a supportive, judgment-free environment. Members leave with practical strategies to reduce risk and make informed decisions, feeling more confident navigating social situations.

Strengthening relationships through honesty and respect

Discovering Sincere Friendship invites members to reflect on their relationships and explore what it truly means to build a supportive, respectful sisterhood. Through open discussion, members learn to foster healthy connections, address harmful behaviors and encourage one another in ways that reflect our core values.

Creating a safer, more supportive sisterhood

Through Sisterhood, Safety and Sexual Assault, members engage in interactive conversations about healthy relationships, consent and creating safer social environments. This program builds awareness and equips members with the tools to look out for one another and support sisters in need.

Holding one another to a higher standard

Every Act of Yours explores how accountability and the courage to have honest conversations are essential to building Sincere Friendship. Members gain the skills to care enough to confront, take responsibility for their choices and contribute to a safe, supportive environment for their sisters.
