Our Roots
A local group of women, Pi Beta Phi, was formed in 1915 and officially became the Texas Beta Chapter in 1916 after the Dallas, Texas, Alumnae Club desired to have a Pi Phi chapter nearby. After their hard work to help establish the chapter, Texas Beta was installed by past Grand Vice President Nina Harris Allen, Illinois Beta, and a celebratory banquet was held at the Oriental Hotel.Collegiate Chapter Leadership

Building Leaders Who Shine
Chapter Leadership Education Expendable (CLEE) funds directly empower our sisters’ leadership journeys, helping eliminate financial barriers to leadership development opportunities for both chapter leaders and individual members. Giving to a CLEE fund allows donors to support the chapters they love while lighting the way for future leaders.
When you're with her, you’re home
Pi Phi chapter facilities are where friendships take root, leaders find their voice and sisterhood shines across generations. From memories made over shared meals to the built-in support from late-night study sessions and knowing your sisters are there in both the big and small moments, living in a chapter facility creates a sense of home and belonging within every wall.

The Original Gerber Baby
Ann Turner Cook is most well-known for being the original Gerber baby featured in Gerber baby food ads. The family’s neighbor, Dorothy Hope Smith, was an artist who did a charcoal drawing of Cook when she was a baby. In 1928, when Gerber announced it was looking for baby images for its upcoming line of baby food, Dorothy’s drawing was submitted and subsequently chosen and later trademarked in 1931. The drawing of Ann has since been used on all Gerber baby food packaging.
Ann was initiated in 1945.
