Our Roots

When New York Alpha Fran DeSimone Becque, Pi Phi’s Historian, moved to Carbondale, Illinois in 1990, she was disappointed there wasn’t an alumnae club in the area. She contacted Central Office, now known as Pi Beta Phi Headquarters, and was provided with a list of nearly 30 members. After successfully recruiting enough members, the club was chartered.
