Our Roots

The Richardson-Plano, Texas, Alumnae Club was founded in 1964 after a group of Richardson-area Pi Phis, led by Iowa Gamma Katherine “Tat” Osterhout, recognized the need for a local alumnae community as the city continued to grow. With support from the Dallas, Texas, Alumnae Club and Pi Phi leadership, 21 alumnae signed a petition to charter the club, and Tat was selected as the first president. Early members focused on fostering sisterhood, supporting local recruitment efforts and creating meaningful programming that reflected Pi Phi’s values and traditions. In honor of Tat’s dedication, the club established a special I.C. pin engraved with her name and the club’s charter year, which continues to be worn by each club president during her term.
