Our Roots
Founded in 1941 by 14 Pi Phis who responded to a local newspaper notice, the then Jackson, Mississippi, Alumnae Club began with weekly gatherings, where members shared desserts and sewed for the Red Cross. The club became inactive in 1945 due to World War II–era relocations and transportation challenges but was rechartered in 1960 and remained active for decades. Renamed the Jackson-Metro, Mississippi, Alumnae Club in 2005, the group soon went inactive again before being revitalized in 2010 by a new wave of alumnae. Since then, it has earned multiple Club of Excellence honors, hosted annual celebrations and fundraisers, supported local chapters through recruitment efforts and remained deeply engaged in literacy initiatives throughout the Jackson area.
