Find Where You Belong

Primary recruitment is a mutual selection process designed to help you find the chapter where you feel most at home. Throughout each round, you’ll have the opportunity to learn about each chapter, their values and their sisterhood to find the community where you truly belong.

What is Primary Recruitment?

A More Flexible Path to Membership

If you didn’t participate in primary recruitment—or are still exploring your options—COB offers another opportunity to join. This process is often more informal and allows you to connect with members at your own pace. Check your university’s Panhellenic website for more information.

Join Pi Phi as an Alumna

The opportunity to join Pi Phi doesn’t end in college. Our alumna initiate program welcomes women who share our values and are ready to connect, lead and make an impact through lifelong sisterhood.

Pi Phi’s Legacy Policy

Being a Pi Phi legacy is a special connection shared between generations of sisters. While legacy status is recognized, each woman’s membership experience is uniquely her own, and all Potential New Members are considered through the same thoughtful recruitment process.

Recommend a Potential New Member

Alumnae can support Potential New Members by submitting a Recruitment Information Form (RIF). While recommendations are not required, they’re a meaningful way to share what makes someone a great fit for Pi Phi.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a recommendation (RIF) to join Pi Phi?

No. A RIF is not required to be considered for membership. If you do not receive one, you will still be fully considered through the recruitment process.

How does recruitment work?

Recruitment is hosted through your college or university’s Panhellenic. Through a mutual selection process, you’ll meet members from each chapter, learn about their values and sisterhood and discover where you feel most at home.

Can alumnae or family members contact a chapter during recruitment?

No. Recruitment is a confidential process guided by Panhellenic policies. To ensure fairness for all Potential New Members, alumnae and family members should not contact chapters about recruitment.
