San Mateo County, CA Alumnae Club

Pi Phi bonds don’t fade after graduation—they only grow stronger. Whether you’ve moved to a new city or are looking to reconnect with sisters in your area, alumnae clubs offer friendship and support no matter where life takes you.

Our Roots

The San Mateo County, California, Alumnae Club began informally in 1928 when local Pi Phi alumnae gathered for tea and social activities, later organizing officially in 1929 as the Peninsula Club. After shifting leadership and being renamed the Palo Alto Alumnae Club during the Great Depression, renewed interest in San Mateo led to the club’s reestablishment and charter in 1940. The group adapted through World War II with service-focused efforts then returned to social and philanthropic traditions.
