Our Roots

A local group of women, Delta Phi Kappa, was formed in 1920 and officially became the Virginia Gamma Chapter in 1925 after installation by past Grand President Amy Burnham Onken, Illinois Epsilon. The installation ceremony took place in Jefferson Hall on campus, and a banquet was held at the Pocahontas Tea Room. The chapter also celebrated with tea alongside the women of Kappa Alpha Theta and Kappa Kappa Gamma.
