Our Roots

A local group of women, Delta Theta Psi, formed in 1904 and officially became the Illinois Eta Chapter in 1912 after installation by past Grand President May Lansfield Keller, Maryland Alpha. Installation took place in the home of Maryland Alpha Caroline Lutz. Illinois Eta was the first national women’s fraternity on campus, and the university president and his wife hosted an open house at their home to honor the chapter.
